Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA)

Support after a motor vehicle accident

Psychological services may be eligible for reimbursement under Section B of your auto insurance for up to two years after an accident.

Common concerns after an MVA

  • PTSD-like symptoms (flashbacks, hypervigilance)
  • High stress and anxiety
  • Mood changes and sleep difficulties
  • Chronic or acute pain and reduced functioning

How coverage works

  • Section B benefits are no-fault and separate from who was at fault.
  • If you have private benefits, use those first and provide an Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
  • No private benefits? You may access Section B right away.
  • A referral note from a medical doctor recommending psychological services is typically required.

Do you direct bill?

Yes—direct billing is available for many insurers (see Insurance section). Receipts are provided for all sessions.
